| Field notes | Cespitose, mid-story palm. Stilt roots ca 15, 20 cm long and 1.5 cm thick, with 0.1 cm long spines. Stems aerial, 4.5 m high, 3 cm thick; internodes 8-10 cm, > stem diameter, with a rough texture. Crownshaft present. Leaves 5 per stem; sheaths closed, 37 cm long; petiole 27-29 cm long, with margined cross-section; rachis 92 cm long; lamina pinnate, flat, with 8 pinnae per side, basal pinna 9 cm, middle pinnae 54 cm, apical pinnae 32 cm long. Infructescence interfoliar; prophyll 14 cm long, 2.2 cm wide, papery; peduncular bract 12 cm long, brown to yellow, papery; peduncle 38 cm long, 1.8 cm wide; rachis 13 cm long, 1 cm wide; rachillae 17, the longest one 18 cm long.
