| Field notes | Cespitose, understory palm with no visible roots. Stems aerial, 3 m high; internodes 11-18 cm, > stem diameter. Crownshaft absent. Leaves 8 per stem; sheaths open; petiole 50 cm long, cross section margined; rachis 164 cm; lamina pinnate, flat; pinnae 38-39 per side, regularly inserted.
