| Field notes | Caespitose, understory palm with few visible roots. Stem aerial, 70 cm long, 0.7 cm thick; internodes 6 cm long, >stem-diameter, covered with leaf bases. Crownshaft absent. Leaves 9 per stem; sheaths open, 7 cm long; petiole 9 cm long, cross section margined; rachis 17 cm; lamina entire, flat, with 1 pinna per side.
