| Field notes | Solitary, moderately robust tree palm to c. 10m. Stem 7cm diam. Internode 3.5cm. Crownshaft, poorly-defined, 75cm long x 16cm wide. Sheath 60cm long, yellow-green with some white wax. Leaf length 350cm including 94cm petiole. Leaflets 51 each side of rachis, arranged regularly. Inflorescence interfoliar at anthesis, becoming infrafoliar with age, arching pendulous, 100cm long including 65cm peduncle, branched to 3 orders, c.16 primary branches, primary branches up to 35cm long, newly emerged inflorescence with yellow branches and buds. Pistillate flowers with green perianth and white ovaries. Fruit unripe, green, spherical, 1.5cm diam. Endosperm ruminate. |
