| Field notes | Slender, clustering tree palm to 2 m tall with 5 stems in clump. Crown with 7 leaves. Crownshaft absent. Inflorescence comprising single spicate axis. Fruit spherical, red when ripe, 1 cm long, pericarp with much sticky juice. Seed ellipsoid. Endosperm homogeneous. Sometimes used for spear tip. Vernacular: Kising, dialect Kotte |
