| Field notes | Solitary palm, 20m tall. Dbh. 15cm. Bark siny brown, 12 cm ring scars. Leaves 12 pcs on the crown, crownshaft 80cm long. Leaf to 200 cm, including 100 cm of petiole; leaflets 24 pcs on each side of the rachis. Inflorescence infrafoliar, rachilla 21-24 pcs; flowers cream in colour. Young fruit green, becoming red in maturity. Uses: bark used for flooring, leaf used for roofing. V.N.: Ampom (Biak lang.) |
