| Field notes | Medium clumped palm, growing to 10m tall. Dbh 5cm; internode to 25cm long. Sheath 40cm long. Leaves 9pcs on the crown; leaf 150cm long, petiole 12cm; leaflets 12pcs on each side of the rachis, in group of three groups. Inflorescence 40cm long, 11 branches. Ripe fruit red. Uses: youngshoot (umbut) edible. Local name: Katrabel/inpsal (Kanum lang). Local guide: Gerpasius |
