| Field notes | Big solitary palm, 12m tall. Diam 13 cm, outer bark rough; internode 15cm. Crownshaft 85 cm long. 10 leaves on the crown. Leaf to 400 cm long with very short petiole; leaflets 69 pair on the rachis. Infructescence intrafoliar; difaricate, 60 cm long. First order bract 12 cm. Infructescence branch to 4 orders. First order branch 70cm long, reflexed. Fruits almost ripe, yellow in colour. Uses: Unknown. Habitat: Lowland primary forest. Geo: Metamorphic. Vernacular: Kasira (Wondama lang.). |
