| Field notes | Medium solitary palm. Trunk to 15m tall, 5cm in diameter. Crownshaft rather inconspicuous, splitted up to the base. Leaves 9 pcs on the crown. Leaf to 120cm long, petiole 15-20cm long; leaflets 52 pcs on each side of rachis. Infructescence 60cm long, 15 branches, rachillae green. Sheath green, almost entirely covered by creamy indument, 33cm long. Young fruit green. Vernacular: Setara (Sumuri lang.). Habitat: Primary forest. Somtimes the trunk used for flooring the house. |
