| Field notes | Caespitose palm. Stems up to 3 m tall and 2 cm in diameter, w/ greenish, c. 15 cm long internodes, marked w/ ring-like leaf scars. Crown occasionally w/ elongated internodes, the leaves then appearing dispersed along the distal part of stem. Leaves c. 5 pr. stem; leaf sheath >20 cm long, closed, covering each other; petiole c. 17 cm long; leaf blade lanceolate, paripinnatifid w/ c. 27 leaflets on each side; rachis up to 150 cm long. Inflorescences infrafoliar, branched to two orders, compound of spikes; prophyll 2 cm short, complete; peduncular bracts 3, each surrounding the peduncle; peduncle c. 20 cm long; main rachis c. 12 cm long.
