| Field notes | Clustering rattan to 12 m tall. Leaf 1.5 m long including 30 cm petiole; Leaflets 41 each side of rachis, regularly arranged; Rachis spines curved and black with yellow bases. Flagellate. Sheath mouth spines to 10 cm long, erect and black. Spines on knee and sheath black. Inflorescence branched to 1 order, with 3 first-order branches. Flower and bracts yellow-green. Fruit c. 3 cm long, 2.5 cm diam., chestnut brown. |
