| Field notes | Clay soil on chalk. Solitary, short-stemmed rattan to 3 m tall. Stem 1.5 m tall, 2.5 cm diam. including dark green sheath. Leaf 150 cm long including 45 cm light green petiole and 20 cm cirrus. Leaflets subregularly arranged proximally, 24 each side of rachis. Spines on sheath orange-brown with yellow basis. Spines at sheath mouth to 10-15 cm long, dark brown, falling with age. Inflorescence 27 cm long. Fruit globose, green turning yellow |
