| Field notes | Trunk colonial, three stems per cluster, approx. 2 m tall, dbh 2 cm without sheaths. Spines creamy w/brown tips, black when old, 1-2 cm long on leaf sheath, stem nodes. Leaf sheath light green. Leaf blade bifid, horizontal, adaxially dark green, pubescent, abaxially, light green with silver hairs. Inflorescence interfoliar two per stem, erect. Infructescence also erect, yellow-green. Fruit orange, smooth, 10 x 14 mm. Alcohol treated |
