Leaves 3 per shoot; sheath up to 70 cm long, distichous, smooth, brownish red marginally; petiole c. 165 cm long, yellowish green to pale green, glabrous; pulvinus 14.8 - 15 cm, colour same as petiole, base yellow diagonally ring as a border to petiole, glabrous; lamina 26.5 x 29 - 63.5 x 66.5 cm, oblong, light green above. greyish green below, upper primary vein green, lower primary vein yellowish green, yellow in young leaf. Inflorescence interfoliar, erect, appearing to protrude from the petiole of the accompanying leaf, peduncle up to 65 cm long: synflorescence axis 32 cm long, glabrous, pale green; bract in primary axis 4, c. 6 - 7 cm long, subtending around 2 - 4 lateral branches. fresh colour not observed, quickly dry, glabrous, distichously arranged; lateral bract c. 4.2 - 4.5 x 1.1 - 1.2 cm, lanceolate, fresh colour not observed, quickly dry, glabrous, spirally arranged; fruits spread up 1 per synflorescence nodes. sometimes 2. Flower not found. Fruits dehiscent, globose - triangular in cross section, pale green or whitish green, glabrous, c. 10 mm long, c. 9 mm in diameter, 3 cells, sometimes 1 sterile; seeds c. 7.5 mm long, ridges in dorsal; black when mature, aril not observed.Uses: Food packing.
