Inflorescence interfoliar, erect; peduncle 48 - 106 cm long, brown, upwards green, glabrous, grey hairs; synflorescence capitate, 9.5 - 12 cm long, brown, primary bract 10 cm long, fresh green, lanceolate; lateral bract 7.5 x 2.5 cm, spirally arranged; flower 2 pairs per special paraclade; fruits 2 - 6 per orders, sometimes 1. Flower white, c. 7 cm long; sepals subulate, 22 x 3 mm; corolla tube c. 40 mm long; staminal tube 5 mm longer than corolla tube; corolla lobes lanceolate, 22 x 4 mm; petaloid staminode lobes 2, the first free petaloid staminode lobe 14 x 7 mm; the second petaloid staminode lobe with small trig appendage 18 x 14 mm; cucullate staminode 3 x 2.5 mm; stamen 2 mm; style 2 mm; ovary 3 mm. Fruit pink, globose - triangular in cross section, groove, white hairs, 13 mm long, 12 mm in diameter, dehiscent, cell 3, sometimes 1 sterile; seed 3, c. 8 mm long, white, black when mature, aril not observed.Uses: Food packing.
