Field notes Close clump with stolons, climping, not stilt rooded c. 4 m long. Stem unbranched, mid green with black spines. Internodes variable c. 30 cm, stem broadening slightly with length. c. 20 leaves still growing along stem, spiral, rotting before falling. Plant fallen so leaf hang hard to judge. Sheath tubular, not forming crownshaft, not becomming fibrous, gr. as stem. Petiole present 25 cm. Blade pinnate 2-2.5 m + cirrus of up to 80 cm. 60 pairs of leaflets, aproximately opposite. Inflorescence interfoliar, solitary shorter than leaves. Only old inflorescences available. Leaves dark green above, slightly lighter below. 2 specimens
