| Field notes | Solitary. Stem 1.5-5 m tall, 6-8 cm diam. Petiole 26 cm long, young leaves with a thin, soon caducous, white indument. Rachis 143 cm long, with few to many spines. Pinnae 22-30 per side, in groups of 3-6. Middle pinnae 14-27 x 12-18 cm (proximal of a group), 25-43 x 11-17 cm (distal of a group). Inflorescences 3-4 per plant, all old, withered. Prophyll 27-30 x 2.5-3 cm. Peduncle 51-95 cm long, 0.5-2 cm diam at apex. Rachis 23-49 cm long. Rachillae 66-139, longest ones 19-26 cm long; apical rachillae ca 6 cm long. First eophyll entire, bifid, praemorse at margins. Not fully expanded leaves plicate. Material from several individuals collected on this number. |
