Solitary, single-stemmed, juvenile palm with stem 4-5 m tall. Stem 240 cm circumference at breast height, diameter 76 cm. Stem light grey covered by leaf bases. Crown of 50-55 green and dried leaves, partially obscured by fire. Leaves costapalmate, costa 121 cm long, hastula 4,5 cm long, lamina width 150 cm. Shortest segment (leaflet) 80 cm long. Petiole 125 cm long, darker than the stem, dark brown with yellow margins, armed with recurved black spines 1 cm long. Multiple adventitious roots 30-54 cm long and 1 cm in diameter. |
