| Field notes | Solitary palm with columnar trunk. 20-25 Leaves in crown, spirally arranged and erect-spreading. Leaf sheath plus petiole is 230 cm long with a true leaf petiole absent and a fibrous leaf sheath, adaxially channeled and abaxially rounded. Leaf rachis 356-377 cm long. 140-155 pairs of pinnae which are distributed in clusters of (2-)3-4(-5) along the rachis in several planes. Middle pinnae 89-110 cm long x 3.8-4.5 cm wide. Androgynous inflorescence with 40-50+ cm long peduncle and 118-124 cm long rachis. The total length of the inflorescence from the bottom most rachilla to the top is 140-165 cm. There are 152-162 rachillae measuring 37-46 cm long at the apex and 70-85 cm long at the base. Peduncular bract with a total length of 225 cm including a beak of 22 cm and the expanded or inflated part of the bract measuring 190 cm long x 10 cm in width and a 28 cm perimeter.
