| Field notes | Solitary palm with 7-8 m x 20 cm trunk. 8 LEAVES in crown, spirally arranged and spreading. Leaf petiole 10-12 cm long with entire margins and a pseudopetiole (continuation of the leaf sheath) to 80-90 cm with fibrous margins, adaxially channeled and abaxially rounded. Leaf rachis 258 cm long. 175-188 pairs of pinnae which are distributed in clusters of 3-5 along the rachis in several planes. Middle pinnae 60-72 cm long x 4.5-5.2 cm wide. Androgynous INFLORESCENCE with 72 cm long peduncle, 32 cm long rachis and a terminus extending the total length of the inflorescence to 61 cm. 89 rachillae with a length of 24-31 cm at the apex and 33-40 cm at the base. Peduncular bract with a total length of 72 cm including a beak of 2.5 cm and the expanded or inflated part of the bract measuring 60 cm long x 23.5-30 cm in width |
