| Field notes | Uricana is the common name. Solitary palm with 6 m x 3 - 3,5 cm trunk. 14 - 15 Leaves in crown, spirally arranged and spreading. Leaf petiole 31 - 57 cm with smooth margins and concave-convex in transection. Leaf rachis 53 - 62 cm. 3 - 4 pairs of pinnae whici are distributed evenly along the rachis in one plane. Middæe pinnae 35 - 43 cm x 1,2 - 11 cm. Androgynous infrafoliar inflorescence with 15 - 16 cm peduncule and 20 - 22 cm rachis. 8 rachillae with a lenght of 17 - 18 cm. Peduncular bract caducous and not seen. Palm species uncommon in this area. |
