| Field notes | Ariri da praia is the common name. Solitary palm with 2-3m x 10 cm trunk. 10 LEAVES in crown, spirally arranged and spreading. Leaf petiole 11-45 cm with toothed margins and concave-convex in transection. Leaf rachis 97-146 cm 25-43 pairs of' pinnae which are distributed evenly along the rachis in one plane. Middle pinnae 42-53 cmx 2.3-3.4 cm. Androgynous interfoliar INFLORESCENCE with 63-83 cm peduncle and 35-43 cm rachis. 18-26 rachillae with a Length of 12-32 cm. Peduncular bract 93-118 cm including a beak of 1.5-3 cm and the expanded or inflated part of the bract measuring 39-45 cm h4-6.5 cm. Palm species very common in this area |
