| Field notes | Coco de raposa is the common name. Solitary palm with acaulescent trunk. 4-7 LEAVES in crown, spirally arranged and spreading. Leaf petiole 26-39 cm with smooth margins but with a fibrous leaf sheath and concave-convex in transection. Leaf rachis 57-66 cm. 3242 pairs of pinnae which are distributed in clusters of 2-4 along the rachis :in several. planes. Middle pinnae 17-27 cm x 0.9-1.3 cm. Androgynous INFLORESCENCE with 7-20 cm peduncle and 10-17 cm rachis. 1-2 rachillae with a length of 8.5-17 cm. Peduncular bract L 19-28(37) cm including a beak of 1-2 cm and the expanded or inflated part of the bract measuring 14-20 cm x 1.5-2 cm. Palm species common in this area |
