| Field notes | Terrestrial herb in deeep shade, basally with stolons but without scaly rhizomes, upper leaf surface dark green usually with a band stripe along midrib, lower leaf surface lighter green or less commonly violet, calyx and pedicels green, corolla bilabiate with the dorsal lobes fused, red outside, basally yellowish, limb orange-red inside, ventral and lateral lobes each with 2 purple dots, stamens didynamous, filaments yellowish, anthers cream, stigma yellowish, style cream.
