| Field notes | Herb in shade, 20-70 cm tall, basally with stolons but no scaly rhizomes observed, lower leaf surface light green to deep purple, flowers protandrous, corolla red outside, yellow inside, especially ventrally with purple markings, limb red outside, inside yellow with purple markings and red edge, stamens cream, filaments yellow-white, style and stigma whitish.
