| Field notes | Shrub, 2-3 m. Petioles 1.3 m. Lamina 1.2 m. Floral bracts red with green edge to yellow above, apically white. Nom. vern.: "Hè-am-bi-chi" (Cayapa). Use: hummingsbirds are said to visit the flowers. The fruits are said to be eaten by birds. |
