| Field notes | Shrub, 1-2 m. Flowers with white petals. Anthers black. Nom. vern.: "Zapata-chi" (Cayapa). Use: for all kinds of diseases with fever. Preparation: this is one of the plants used by the shaman to cure diseases caused by "Los espiritos de monte. The body of the patient is padded with the twigs. Alternatively an extract of the crushed s leaves is drunk twice a day. |
