| Field notes | Herb. Leaves dark greenish purple above, purple with green margin below. Nom. vern.: "fimu pin tapé" (Cayapa). Use: for bites of the "Equis" snake. Preparation: the crude leaves are crushed and appli- cated to the bite. This treatment is said to absorb the venom. |
