Field notes Shrub, 2 m tall. Cultivated near houses by blacks. Flowers yellow. Nom. Vern.: Malva tape (Cayapa); Use: 1) For lowering the temperature of the body in case of fever. Prep.: The leaves are macerated and boiled and used for a bath. 2) For releaving headaches. Prep.: The leaves are macerated and mixed with water. The mixture is used for bathing the head.
