Field notes Shrub, 1.5 m tall. Nom. Vern.: Pu pin ja (Cayapa); Use: Used by the shamans as part of a curing ritual. A bath of macerated leaves in water is prepared for the patient. The shaman fills his mouth with the mixture and spits it over the body of the patient.
