| Field notes | Liana. Cultivated in the shade of cacao trees. Nom. Vern.: Mepe (Colorado); Aihuasca (Spanish). Use: Well-known hallucinogen not only used by the sha- mans, but by all people frequently. They do not mix it with other plants. The stem is grated, boiled and some glasses of the mixture is drunk warm. Used as a laxa- tive too. In this case half a glass is enough. Finally they use it in the same way for pains in the stomach. |
