| Field notes | Corolla red outside and on the underlip. Yellow inside. Many dots on the lips. Nom. Vern.: Pin remedio tape mallo tape (Cayapa); Use: It is said to be excellent for snake bites. Prep.: The leaves are macerated in water and applied twice to the bite. It is also used for a drink, 2 teaspoonfuls twice after a bite. It is cultivated because it is rare in the forest, and you have to pay for it. |
