| Field notes | Tree, 5 m tall. In farmland near dwelling, but not cultivated. Flowers white. Nom. Vern.: Bulia tape (Cayapa); Use: 1) The shamans use the leaves as part of a ritual for curing pains or fever. They tap the body of the patient with macerated leaves. 2) For coughs. The leaves are macerated and applied to the breast of the patient for cooling. |
