| Field notes | Along trail in forest. Flowers yellow-white. Nom. Vern.: Jenballosa tape pindeno punchumi (Cayapa) Use: Used by the shamans. Prep.: The leaves of this herb are boiled together with the stems of Banisteri- opses caapi for preparation of "ayahuasca". The ad- mixture of this herb does not seem to intensify the hallucinogenic effect of the drink, but is said to re- duce the bitter taste. |
