| Field notes | Herb. In the river near the bank, where the water was relatively stagnant. Flowers white. Nom. Vern.: Billo tape alatochuno tape (Cayapa); Use: As fish poison ("barbasco") for fishing. Prep.: The leaves are crushed and used in small brooks. The plant is very poisonous, only a little of it is necessary to kill the fishes. |
