| Field notes | Tree, 4 m tall. Nom. Vern.: Bijchi tape (Cayapa); Use: Used by the shamans for their curing ritual. The patient is tapped softly with a twig. The leaves are macerated, mixed with water and used for a bath at full moon. It is said to prevent people from growing old. |
