Field notes Leaves 2 m long, light green beneath. Outer petals red. The inner part of the flower yellow. Aromatic scent. In primary forest. Nom. Vern.: Nadiscu (Colorado); Sao Juanillos (Spanish). Use: The leaves are boiled and used for severel purposes: Rheumatism (the leaves are applied to the affected part), snake bites and for lowering the body temperature ("para refriadod").
