Primary. Upper hill dipterocarp forest. Plateau area in a swampy area. Strongly clustering palm, forming thick colony, acaulescent. Petiole 216 long, covered with reddish brown indumentum; rachis 159 cm long; leaflets regularly arranged, c. 76 pairs, stiff. Rachillae reddish brown. Fruits covered with dark brown spreading scales, top-shaped, up to 3.7 cm diam.
