Field notes Dwarf shrub, flowers yellow. Maasai name: alchani la alasuria (asuria ~ snake) Bark on roots is used to treat both human and animals bitten by any kind of snake. For one person bark of one root 10 cm long and c. 1 cm thick is extracted in 1,5 decilitre of water for 2-3 minutes and drunk as soon as possibly after being bitten. The medicine can be mixed with a bit of salt. Treatment can be repeated twice a day for serious cases. For a cattle 2 roots 10 cm long and 1 cm thick is used for 1/2 litre water and prepared as above.
