| Field notes | Shrub, ray flowers light yellow, discs flowers yellow. Maasai name: orkisaen Branches used for arrows as it is straight and hard. Used for pain in throat and "oloirobi". Adults chew the very bitter roots, while one piece c. 50 cm long and 1/4 cm thick is boiled a few minutes and mixed with a drop of milk for children. Treatment is repeated every day. Used for animals with wounds infected with larvae. Leaves is pounded, dried, grained and placed on the wounds to kill the larvae. |
