| Field notes | Scrambler, flowers light green to yellow. Maasai name: orng'eriandus The root is used to colour leather for swordsheet. The bright red decoction of a handful of root, possible mixed with milk is given to small calves with "mbenek", a sickness which they can get the first time they are moved to the highland. |
