| Field notes | Subshrub, flowers light purple to white. Maasai name: orkipire lekima (orkipire ~ stick to make soup, enkima ~ fire) Decoction of plant is ued to wash women after delivery, before "leaving the hut", refer to that she is able to work hard, takes place 2-3 months after delivery. Used for "esonchoi". Water is heated with the plant and used to wash the body at night, while everybody else are sleeping. |
