Field notes Maasai name: oltiol A grass of very poor quality as food for cattle and poorer than several kind of herbs and shrub, so it is one of the last eaten, while the cattle grass in the forest. After fire it is the first to regrow independent of rain and might help the cattle to survive this period, while other species aren't available.
