| Field notes | Maasai name: olopi kidong'oi (olopi ~ the sharp, kidong'oi ~ tail). It is the most common grass in the highland, called "osupuko". It is not a grass that makes the cattle fat and healthty, but they can survive by eaten this and it is good the whole year round and is mostly used at the end of dryseason. It is very tough and can breake the cattle teeth, when they tear it up. |
