| Field notes | Shrub. Maasai name: engaimorunyai Used for fence around the boma. Thorns used to cure persons cursed by "oloiboni". Sickness, loss of cattle and quarrel are seen as signs of curse. Decoction of thorns is used to wash the person, can be prepared together with thorns of "olkiloriti". Can only be used after consultation of "oloiboni and in accordance to his advices, not used to make "entasimi" of. Used to clean the vomb after abrotion, 4-5 roots aer boiled in a cup of water and drunk. William ole Seki: woodsticks used to prolong earlobes. |
