| Field notes | Herb. Vernacular name: achira negra. The plant is rich in vitamins and minerals. Use: medicine for tuberculosis: is eaten in "colada" (sweet porridge) with milk. For diarrhoea: the tubers are crushed well and put in water to deposit one day, one teaspoon of the sediment is drunk with water, salt and lime. |
