Field notes Tree, flowers upper petals red lower petals white, cultivated. Vernacular spanish name: cañar, quichua name: guato. Use: medicine for relapse: the flowers crushed with "chichira" is drunk. The plant is also used for the nerves and to get rip of intestinal worms.
