| Field notes | Tree, smell like white spirit. Vernacular spanish name: laurel grande, quichua name: cardi laurel. Use: wood for construction. Medicine to quit ache in the muscles by long works: the new leaves are eaten. For "aire" (spanish term): the skin are rubbed with a branch. For vomit: a branch of this plant is used together with other plant species for rubbing the body. |
