Field notes Parasite on collection no. LE 655, flowers red. Maasai name: armandaite Flowers eaten by goats. Stick used for "ormanet" in which a small hole is made to place "entasimi" in, and sealed with wax. Is used for "entasimi" to protect aganist lose of cattle caused by wild animals and thieves. The "ormanet" is placed in the right side of the cattlegate. The herd boy take it in his left hand and walk right way around the boma, so the "ormanet" also sourronds him. Is repeated every evening after the cattle has entered the gate and every morning before leaving the boma, as long time as the stick is in the boma, only stopped by lost of "ormanet" or when expire. John Keretu: Decoction of branches is used to bathe children with fever. Branches are very nice for "entasimi" for people, who has mental disturbance.
