| Field notes | Herb, flowers bright purple. Maasai name: olekiushin (kiushin ~ termitary). The brown decoction of 4 pieces, 20 cm long and 1 cm thick roots with bark is made by boiling 1 litre of water in c. 20 minutes. It suit for one person and is mixed with a drop of milk to change colour and drunk for pain in the throat. The medicine can be drunk once or twice a day and treatment might be repeated for several days in accordance to desire. The roots can be reused three times. The medicine is not bitter. |
